In Loving Memory
Funeral Services at St. Paul
We Are Here For You
Honoring a Life Well Lived
Losing someone you love is one of the hardest experiences of life. At St. Paul United Methodist Church in Muskogee, we walk alongside families in their grief, offering a sacred space for remembrance, comfort, and hope. Whether or not you are a member of our congregation, we are honored to help you say goodbye with dignity and grace.
What To Expect
Walking With You Through Every Step
Planning a funeral is something most families have little experience with, and doing it in the middle of grief makes it harder. At St. Paul, we try to make the process as simple and supported as possible. When you reach out to us, our first step is a personal conversation with our pastor — not a form to fill out or a checklist to work through, but a real conversation about your loved one, your family, and what would make the service most meaningful.
From there, we work with you to plan a service that honors the life lived while proclaiming the hope that sustains us. We coordinate with your funeral home, help you select scripture and music, and walk beside you every step of the way. You will never feel like you are navigating this alone.
What We Offer
Funeral and Memorial Services
Christian Funeral Service
A Christian funeral is a holy and reverent occasion. We conduct funeral services that honor your loved one while proclaiming the hope of resurrection found in Jesus Christ. Our pastor will work personally with your family to create a meaningful and fitting service.
Memorial Services
We also offer memorial services for families who have already completed burial arrangements and wish to gather for a service of remembrance and celebration of life.
Pastoral Care
Our pastor is available to meet with families, offer prayer and counsel, and provide ongoing pastoral care through the grieving process. You do not have to walk through this alone.
Our Facilities
St. Paul United Methodist Church in Muskogee offers two beautiful spaces for a funeral service and memorial services. Our main sanctuary is one of the most architecturally distinctive spaces in Muskogee — with soaring Gothic arches, a five-octave pipe organ, and brilliant stained-glass windows. A beautiful place to honor your loved one’s life. The sanctuary can seat about 500 guests comfortably.
For a smaller, more intimate funeral service, our Art Deco-inspired Rowsey Memorial Chapel offers a quieter setting that still conveys the same sense of sacred space. Geometric stained glass, stacked sandstone brick, and an electric organ and piano make this smaller space a dignified place to honor your loved one. The Rowsey Memorial Chapel can seat about 90 guests comfortably.
It Makes a Difference
Why a Church Funeral Service Matters
A Christian funeral service is different from a memorial service at a funeral home. It is an act of worship. It gathers the community of faith around a grieving family to proclaim together that death is not the end — that the same God who raised Jesus from the dead holds our loved ones in his hands. That proclamation does not remove the grief, but it surrounds it with something stronger. At St. Paul, our sanctuary, with its soaring arches, brilliant stained glass, and pipe organ, creates a space that feels sacred and set apart — a space where the weight of loss and the reality of hope can both be held at once.
