Loving Our Neighbors in Muskogee and Beyond

At St. Paul United Methodist Church in Muskogee, we believe that following Jesus means serving others. Our missions and outreach programs are expressions of our deepest convictions — that every person has dignity and worth, that the gospel demands compassion, and that the church exists not for itself but for the world. We serve locally, nationally, and globally because the love of Christ knows no boundaries.

What We Do

Direct Missions

These are the missions and outreach programs that St. Paul United Methodist Church directly organizes, funds, and operates in Muskogee and beyond.

Dinner Church

On the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month from September through May, St. Paul hosts Dinner Church at 5:30 PM — a meal and worship experience open to anyone in the community.

Backpack Food Program

Every other Wednesday morning during the school year, volunteers gather at 10:00 AM to pack over 100 food bags that are sent home with food-insecure children in area schools over the weekend.

Community Thanksgiving Meal

Every Thanksgiving Day St. Paul hosts a free traditional Thanksgiving meal open to everyone in the Muskogee community. No cost, no strings attached — just a warm meal and warm welcome.

Monthly Food Collections

St. Paul collects food monthly and provides an endowment gift to the local community food pantry, ensuring consistent support for neighbors facing food insecurity in Muskogee.

Christmas Eve Benevolence Offering

Each Christmas Eve our congregation gives a special offering designated entirely for benevolence work — helping individuals and families in our community facing financial hardship.

United Methodist Special offerings

St. Paul participates in all five of the United Methodist Church’s special offerings, supporting ministries of justice, mercy, and evangelism around the world.

Project Transformation

Each summer St. Paul United Methodist Church serves as a host site for Project Transformation, a United Methodist ministry that places college-aged interns in our building to provide free literacy and learning programs for elementary-age children in Muskogee. Project Transformation changes the trajectory of children’s lives while also forming the faith of the young adults who serve as interns.

Stronger Together

Community Partnerships

St. Paul United Methodist Church believes the church building should serve the community every day of the week, not just on Sundays. We are proud to partner with and host several community organizations that serve the people of Muskogee.

CARD Senior Nutrition Program

The CARD Senior Nutrition Program meets in our activity building Monday through Friday year round, providing meals for adults 60 and older in our community.

Bridges Out of Poverty

Bridges Out of Poverty meets in our building on Tuesday evenings for classes, socials, and graduation ceremonies, helping Muskogee residents build pathways to financial stability.

The Good Shepherd Clinic

The Good Shepherd Clinic is housed in our building as a partnership between St. Paul UMC and St. Joseph Catholic Church. The clinic provides free healthcare to uninsured adults in Muskogee — a tangible expression of ecumenical cooperation and Christian compassion.

Exchange Club BBQ Cook-Off

St. Paul is a sponsor of the Exchange Club of Muskogee’s annual BBQ Cook-Off, supporting programs that benefit children in our community.

Recovery Support Groups

St. Paul hosts two Alcoholics Anonymous groups and one Al-Anon group in our building, providing a safe and welcoming space for people on the journey of recovery and their loved ones.

Annual Events

Outreach Events

Throughout the year St. Paul hosts a variety of community events that bring our congregation and our neighbors together. Everyone is welcome.

Annual Block Party

Our annual block party brings the neighborhood together for free food, games, bicycle giveaways, gift cards, and prizes. It is one of our favorite days of the year and a celebration of the community we love.

Messiah by the Muskogee Community Chorus

Each Christmas season St. Paul hosts the Muskogee Community Chorus presentation of Handel’s Messiah, bringing together singers and audiences from across Muskogee for a powerful evening of worship and music. The concert supports a musical scholarship for a graduating senior in the area.

Vacation Bible School

Each summer St. Paul hosts Vacation Bible School, a week of Bible stories, music, games, and crafts for children in our congregation and community. VBS is free and open to all children in the Muskogee area.

Blessing of the Animals

Near the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi each fall, St. Paul holds a Blessing of the Animals service, celebrating God’s creation and the special bond between people and their pets. All animals and their owners are welcome.
