“Spirit in the Bones”

Romans 8:1-2, 8-9, 12-17 (NRSVue)

Most of us learn pretty early that who we are is bound up with what we do. As children, we are praised. As workers, we are measured. As parents and retirees, the questions just take on a different shape. The measuring never really stops. In Romans 8, Paul writes to a church full of people who knew exactly what that felt like, and he says something that does not fit any of the world’s categories: you are a child of God. Join us this Sunday as we look at the Holy Spirit who lives in you, leads you, vouches for you, and gives you voice.
