Although each individual class may have slight variations, your child's day at the Learning Tree Preschool will include time for:

LEARNING CENTERS - These change with each new unit, but basics (shape, color, and number activities) remain throughout the year, giving opportunities for individual learning and one-on-one interaction.

ART - Art offers the opportunity to work with many types of media and develop creativity.

FREE CHOICE ACTIVITIES - These activities involve the development of gross and fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. These include home living center, books, dramatic play, and the social skills of learning to be a part of a group.

STORY/GROUP TIME - This time helps children learn to listen, lengthens attention span, and emphasizes our current unit of study.

SNACK - Snack time offers time for fun, language enrichment, responsibility, and nutrition education.

MUSIC - Music time provides a time for learning songs, finger plays, and movement activities to complement each learning unit. This time also provides practice in listening, following directions, and encourages group participation.

We follow the Muskogee Public Schools' yearly calendar and will not bee in session if schools are out because of bad weather. School begins the Wednesday after Labor Day, and ends one week before the public schools end. You will receive a school calendar upon enrollment, as well as The Learning Tree Preschool handbook.

The St. Paul Learning Tree Preschool is a well respected early childhood program provided to the community as a ministry of our church. The preschool was started in 1979, and the goal of our program has remained constant through the years. We strive to provide a caring and enriching environment for children to develop and grow socially, emotionally, intellectually, and physically.

An age-appropriate curriculum is offered. This is a careful blend of teacher-initiated activities that build on children's interests and children's self-directed activities and play. Activities are suited to children's ages and abilities and address all areas of development: intellectual, social, emotional, physical, and creative. We feel that the program should fit the child; the child should not have to fit the program.

Class meet from September through May, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. We accept children ages two through four.
